𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐲

A consultation meeting was held at Sangbaykha Dungkhag to discuss the 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐬𝐞 𝐄𝐜𝐨-𝐥𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐞 and the 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐲, following the Local 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐋𝐀𝐏𝐁𝐄𝐃) approach. The focus of the meeting was on co-designing a community-led tourism initiative, involving community groups, sector officials, local leaders, and local administration. During the consultation, the blueprint for the Construction of the Rongtse Eco-lodge was reviewed, discussed, and finalized, with a clear way forward and action plan set in place.

The consultation meeting was facilitated by the Department of Local Governance and Disaster Management, with support from the EU-TA-LGDG.
