As part of the first Constituency visit, the Hon. Member of Parliament from Bji-Kartshog-Uesu, Dasho Lhendup Wangdi met with Dzongdag and the Dzongkhag Sector heads today. The meeting discussed Dzongkhag’s key development programs, projects and activities that lie ahead in the new financial year and the 13 Five-Year Plan. The Dzongkhag also presented a set of key strategic development proposals aimed at bringing about transformative socioeconomic changes, especially focusing on sustainable tourism, expanding RNR sector’s contribution to the local economy and other important plans. The Hon. Member of Parliament was also informed of some cross-sectoral issues, such as the shortage of human resources due to high attrition, issues facing health and education sector, and other administrative issues and challenges.
The Hon. Member also flagged new national development policy agenda of the Royal Government, the new drive required to realize these national goals, and the importance of working together for bigger national goals and specific focus for Haa Dzongkhag.
