The design and construction of new structures along with major renovation of Gongzim Ugyen Dorji Central School, will begin soon following the official site handover to the construction firms today. The event was attended by officials from MoESD, MoIT, and the Dzongkhag Administration.
Established in 1913 under the Command of His Majesty Jigme Wangchuck and supervised by Gongzim Ugyen Dorji, the school stands as one of the first modern educational institutions in Bhutan.
The two-year GoI PTA project will be implemented under a design-and-build model through a joint venture between M/S Tsagmar Construction Pvt. Ltd. and M/S White Cypress Associates. MoIT will provide technical support while MoESD will oversee the administrative and financial aspects of the project.
