The 10th Dzongkhag Tshogdu of Haa Dzongkhag was successfully convened today, with the Honโble Prime Minister, Honโble Minister for Energy and Natural Resources, and Deputy Chairperson of the National Council in attendance as observers.
Some of the key deliberations and decisions included the endorsement of the Standard Operating Procedures for Integrated Waste Management and for Smoking and Alcohol Control Measures, presented by the respective task force representatives.
The Chief Executive Officer of Bhutan Agro Industries Limited also delivered a presentation and offered to purchase 100 percent of Haa Dzongkhagโs apple produces. It was agreed that a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the Dzongkhag and Bhutan Agro in the coming months. Bhutan Agro further expressed its commitment to explore the procurement of carrots and beetroots from farmers of Haa Dzongkhag.
