Haa Dzongkhag had the honour of coordinating the offering of Rew-Sang-Choe at the Duduel Jangchub Chorten this morning, as part of the customary mandate shared among Haa Dzongkhag, Paro Dzongkhag, and representatives of the Thrungkar Committee. The prayers were presided over by Lam Neten of Haa Rabdhey.
The Duduel Jangchub Chorten, a Bodhi Stupa, is a significant landmark situated atop Chelela Pass between Haa Dzongkhag and Paro Dzongkhag. Its history reflects a special blend of sacred prophecy and Royal patronage. The construction of the stupa fulfilled an 18th-century prophecy by Terton Drukdra Dorji, who foretold that a stupa built at this site would serve to protect Bhutan and its people.
