Jyenkhana Primary School was established in the heart of Jyenkhana village under Samar Geog on 4th April, 1984 with 3 staff and 117 students. Dasho Nado Rinchen, then the Director of education was the main pillar with full commitment support from community in construction of school. The School was ongoing as a paying boarder from the day of start till the end of June, 2007. From July, 2007 it was altered as a full boarding with the support of stipend Nu. 240 per child by RGoB. It was only the primary school in the Dzongkhag with full boarding facilities then. The main motive of establishment of this school are as follows:
People of Samar geog migrate with cattle to Samtse Dzongkhag w.e.f October till June. Admission of students from the remotest part of this Dzongkhag. Ideal location of this school.
